Department of Mechanical Engineering students did a project on Single Actuated Wave Robot
Short Abstract : The present work illustrates the development of Single Actuated Wave-like (SAW) robot. SAW robot has been derived from it’s an ingenuity of the way snakes move in nature, although its wave movement is perpendicular. The wave movement enables the robot to crawl across different surfaces, climb and swim, while the wheels are for steering. The SAW robot has a unique minimalistic mechanical design and produces an advancing sine wave, with a large amplitude using only a single motor but with no internal straight spine.
The current work also provides the comprehensive review of the kinematic analysis of the wave robot which accounts for the two-dimensional mechanics of motion and yields the speed of the links relative to the motor. The main objective of the present work is to develop a prototype of a SAW robot. The mechanism and the kinematic link analysis have been studied. Latter, the design and assembly procedure, selection of materials and the development of prototype has been discussed. An ESP32 camera with FDPI adapter have been fitted with the SAW robot for the IoT application.

Our college students from Official Formula Student team(EQUESTER) of collegiate club from department of mechanical Engineering had participated in SUPRA SAEINDIA 2019 in GREATER NOIDA(Buddh International Circuit) and secured 30th rank out of 127 teams.
