  • This five day pedagogical programme organized by STLC was held during February 14-18, 2023. The programme witnessed brainstorming sessions on several topics ranging from design of backward curriculum to the implementation of NEP.
  • Dr. C. Sheeba Joice, Associate Dean, STLC simulated the ideas on the needs of Paradigm Shift in Teaching Learning Process, Backward Design
    in Curriculum and Reforms in Assessment.
  • Dr.S.J Thiruvengadam, Dean Academics, TCE, Madurai presented sessions on understanding OBE principles, developing Learning Outcomes for courses, Aligning curriculum, syllabus and teaching methods with OBE.
  • Dr.S. Dhandapani, Associate Dean, Saveetha Engineering College explained on the National Institutional Ranking Methodology.
  • Dr. K. N. Subramanya, Principal and Professor of RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru shared his experiences on enhancing Teaching Learning Process in NIRF Context and the role of Faculty in Institutional Assessment and Accreditation.
  • Dr. V. Vijaya Chamundeeswari, Dean / CSE exposed the audience on the Necessity of research culture.
  • Dr. M. Selvi, Professor & Deputy Head / ECE presented a detailed analysis on the need of research in Engineering Education, Impact of Standardized Testing on Learner Motivation and Learning.
  • Dr. Anand A Samuel, Former Vice Chancellor, VIT University Vellore made the participants understand the NEP framework and explained the Holistic and Multidisciplinary
    Approach to Education.

The ICTIEE 2023, organized by the Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE), took place from January 6 - 8, 2023 at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering in Mysuru. The event included the distribution of IGIP awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to engineering education.

The Saveetha Teaching Learning Centre received the Outstanding Teaching Centre Award for its exceptional efforts in adopting teaching-learning methodologies and organizing programs to equip faculty members with necessary skills for excellence in teaching practices. This workshop held during December 16-17, 2022, featured notable speakers who shared their insights on leadership in education.

  • Dr. G. Tholkapia Arasu, Vice President and Senior Advisor, Aaasan Educare Foundation encouraged principals to nurture competence, emotional intelligence, and a vision for teaching.
  • Mr. Jayaprakash Gandhi, Career Consultant and Analyst emphasized the importance of math and technology in student's future careers.
  • Dr. Sheeba Joice C, Associate Dean, STLC introduced Saveetha Engineering College's training programs for teachers.
  • Mr. C Kamaraj IAS, MD and CEO, TN Cement Corporation spoke about the crucial role of teachers in supporting student's development and the importance of principal's self-development.

The Universal Human Values (UHV) team conducted several sessions for first-year learners from November 7 - 9, 2022, at the Institution.

  • Dr. Sheeba Joice C, Associate Dean/STLC introduced the self-reflective methodology of teaching to help students develop a holistic perspective about life.
  • Dr. M. Selvi, Deputy Head, ECE and Dr. M. Vanitha, Asso Prof/ECE discussed the purpose of education for holistic development.
  • Ms. K. Padma Priya, AP SG/ECE and Dr. G.Venkatesan Asso Prof/CIVIL discussed relationship values such as trust, respect, care,guidance, affection, and love.
  • Dr. M. Priya, Professor and Head/Physics Dr. P. Bakkiyalakshmi, Asso Prof/Agri and Dr. S.Kalpana, Prof/Physics conducted a session on family harmony.
  • while Dr. R. Senthil Kumar,Vice Principal, Dr. Anitha Julian, Prof/CSE and Ms. V. Hemalatha, AP(SG)/English handled a session on self-management.Lastly, Dr. G. Nalinipriya, Prof/IT and Dr. S. Vidhya, Asso Prof/IT conducted a session on health and lifestyle.
  • The sessions were interactive and informative, encouraging learners to explore their values and develop a positive attitude towards life.

WORKSHOP ON ART OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY

STLC organized a workshop on the Art of Diversity and Inclusivity on October 29, 2022. Faculty members from various departments enthusiastically participated in the interactive session led by blogger and author, Ms. Subha Thangaraj. The workshop focused on the importance of acceptance and included fun-filled activities and real-life examples. The participants found the contents of the workshop highly beneficial.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

43Saveetha Teaching Learning Centre organized an orientation programme for newly joined faculty members of Saveetha Engineering College on October 19, 2022.

Dr. Sheeba Joice. C, Dr. S. Dhandapani, and Mr. S. Joyal Isac conducted three sessions during the Faculty Orientation Programme for newly joined faculty members at Saveetha
Engineering College. The sessions covered topics such as programme structure, curriculum, Outcome-Based Education, and Moodle and CAMU-Learning Management System. Hands-on training was provided on creating course content, interactive videos, quiz creation, and grading assignments in Moodle.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EDUCATING POST MILLENIALS finals 01

ICEM’24 is the second edition organized by Saveetha Teaching Learning Centre (STLC), Saveetha Engineering College, India. ICEM’24 aims to provide a global platform to identify best practices in teaching and applaud the evolutionary aspects involved in reaching the zenith. ICEM’24 consists of two keynote sessions and paper presentations under two tracks on 17th May, 2024. The research articles submitted to ICEM’24 will be peer-reviewed and selected for prospective publication in the Taylor & Francis Conference Proceedings titled ‘Pedagogical Revelations’ (Scopus Indexed).  

ICEM’24 looks forward to witnessing the works of passionate educators and learners to be a part of this event.
